What Should I Do Now?

I've been choked and punched, and called horrible things for 17 years, and tonight is the night it ends!

Hi Julie

"If you are aggressed in any way once, YOU WILL BE ABUSED AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN! And it's likely to become worse for you! Julie, assistance is available to you. Regrettably, I live in France and can offer little more than moral support. Please feel free to contact me at any time by email at mikeadamsreviews@gmail.com. I'll go to any length to assist.

If you are in imminent danger, dial 999 and request assistance from the authorities. If you are unable to talk and are using a mobile phone, dial 55 to transfer your call to the police. Learn how to contact the police if you are unable to talk.

Does this individual engage in any of the following behaviors?

  • Isolate you from family and friends?

  • Bullying, threatening, or attempting to exert control over you?

  • Taking charge of your financial situation?

  • Monitoring or prohibiting your technology use?

  • Abusing you physically and/or sexually?

Domestic violence is not necessarily physical. Additionally, it may include the following:

  • Control by coercion and 'gaslighting'

  • Economic exploitation

  • Abuse on the internet

  • Intimidation and threats

  • Abuse of the emotions

  • Sexual assault

Domestic violence can affect everyone, regardless of gender, age, ethnic origin, religion, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, or background.

If you suspect you are a victim of domestic abuse, there are several indicators to watch for, including the following:

  • Withdrawing or isolating yourself from family and friends

  • Being afflicted with bruises, burns, or bite marks

  • Constraints on your finances, such as not being provided enough money to purchase food, medication, or pay expenses

  • Not being permitted to leave your house, or being prevented from attending college or working

  • Monitoring your internet or social media activity, or the other person reads your texts, emails, or letters

  • Constantly being denigrated, put down, or told you are worthless

  • Being compelled to engage in sex or sexual contact

  • Being informed that you are to blame for the abuse or that you are overreacting

Solicit assistance and support immediately. Domestic abuse in any form is never acceptable. If you are a victim of domestic abuse and feel threatened or dominated by a partner, ex-partner, or family member, it is critical to realize that it is not your fault and that seeking help is not shameful. While this may appear to be a challenging step to take, assistance is available. 24 hours a day, victims and concerned family members or friends can receive free, confidential support and advice.

If you are a victim of domestic abuse and require emergency assistance, inquire about 'ANI' at a participating pharmacy. 'ANI' is an acronym for Action Is Required Immediately. If a pharmacy displays the 'Ask for ANI' emblem, it indicates that they are willing to assist. They will provide you with a secluded room, a phone, and inquire as to whether you require assistance from the police or other domestic abuse support agencies.

I look forward to hearing from you.
